How many of you don’t do well without a good night’s sleep? That probably applies to everybody and this can be even more true as you get older. Humans need less sleep as they get older, but if you’re still not getting a good one no matter how old you are it’s going to be a problem. BPH is also called an enlarged prostate and that is much less of a mouthful. Flomax does work to counter frequent urination urges very well, but this risk of dizziness is avoided better if you can be in bed for the next 8 hours after taking it. Now granted it is only the first of those that will be a realistic scenario for a man who’s at the age where BPH is a possibility, but you never know. The point is that the reason around why take Flomax at bedtime is that so you won’t be dizzy or have any risk of losing consciousness during the daytime.
Most men don’t get BPH until they’ve past 50 years of age, but it is important to remember that it is usually culmination of years of factors going into making the prostate get slowly bigger and bigger. It’s not like it swells to that size in a short period of time, and prostate enlargement does occur naturally. Even men who don’t have urinary issues because of an enlarge prostate will have a larger one than they did in their youth, it’s just that they won’t have any pressing issue to make them aware of it.
Another reason for why take Flomax at bedtime is that the risk of dizziness or disorientation with Flomax may be more pronounced based on your physiology, and in the same way your urinary function itself can be affected by medications like antidepressants, diuretics, antihistamines, or powerful sedatives. The last one there is probably the one to take note of as most people will know that many men above the age of 50 will have a real fondness for powerful sedatives and may be taking them regularly.
