Directions

Take this medication by mouth, usually 2 to 4 times daily or as directed by your doctor. The dosage and length of treatment is based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Dosage is also based on your weight. Do not increase your dose, take it more frequently, or take it for a longer time than prescribed. Take this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same times each day. Tell your doctor if your condition persists or worsens.

Before using this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have current blood clots (e.g., in the legs, lungs, brain, eye), bleeding in the brain (subarachnoid hemorrhage), color vision problems. Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of history of blood clots, a certain serious blood clotting problem (disseminated intravascular coagulation-DIC), kidney problems (including blood in the urine), irregular menstrual bleeding of unknown cause. This drug may make you dizzy. Use caution while driving, using machinery, or doing any activity that requires alertness. Limit alcoholic beverages. Kidney function declines as you grow older. This medication is removed by the kidneys. Therefore, the elderly may be more sensitive to the effects of this drug. During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. This drug passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
